How come everyone ask me why I like jefff Gordon when I I say I like gordon?

I always have to explain I am talking about Gordon johncock when I say I like Gordon, they automatically assume I mean jeff Gordon, what idiots!

Because when using only one name when referring to an athlete, most people use the last name, not the first. Try saying Johncock instead of Gordon.
