Muhammad Ali blamed his loss to Larry Holmes on thyroid medication. Was there any other boxer who blamed the loss of a fight on medication?

I dont know. But Ali was way and I mean way past his prime when this fight happened. Homes was in his prime and was an all time great heavyweight champion. Ali was misdiagnosed with hypothyroidism and placed on the medication. He was very ill because of this and people in his training came knew this. Angelo Dundee should not have let this fight happen. At this point in his career Ali had no chance to best Homes even if he wasnt ill. An Ali from 1965 to 1967 would best prime Homes though. It would be a great fight but prime Ali could dance for 15 rounds and not tire.
