Is there any way to remove a cerekote finish?

and if it was cerekoted over stainless steel, would you have to refinish it? CTM, leaving it in a beadblast finish wont cause unnecessary wear on the gun?

Sandblasting is the only way I know.

It has to be media blasted. There are no chemicals that will strip it.

Yes, CTM and FF are correct. Don`t worry about a media blast finish on SS because the item was more than likely blasted before the Cerakote was applied. Stainless steel is tricky to coat with any kind of finish to bond because of being high content of chrome.

Yes, the only method of removing properly applied (baked) Cerakote is sandblasting. On a stainless gun this will require polishing afterwards unless you like beadblast finish. Pretty sure it won't wear any more than normal usage. There are degrees of beadblast finish, satin requires a fine media and will show marks more readily.

Sandblasting.
