What's the point of a roof on tennis court? It doesn't prevent rain interruptions as the rain still falls on the roof even when it's closed?

this question doesnt make sense the point of a roof is so the court doesnt get wet so people can play safely on rainy days

Are you talking about the noise of the rain on the roof? Otherwise I'd think closing the roof would be pretty obvious - to prevent the COURT from getting wet - especially relevant with a grass court - ie Wimbledon. And it can also help to play under a closed roof, when the whether is abnormally HOT.
