Any recommendations on travel in South America?
I’ve been around the US and a couple places in Mexico and the Caribbean. Also a few countries in Europe and the Middle East. Now, I would like to vacation in S.A. Any advice?

Go chill in the seediest parts of town and hang with the most dangerous looking people you can find.

I'd highly recommend Costa Rica if you've never been. It's a beautiful country with rain forests, volcanoes, beaches and hot springs. The people are very friendly and many are fluent in English.

That would depend upon what you are looking for. European architecture, feel, art, etc, then Buenos Aires. Nature, then middle or upper Amazon. Socialism-induced poverty, then Venezuela. Glaciers and penguins, then Patagonia. Excitement, Carnival in Rio. Ancient wonders, Machu Pichu and surrounding areas.
