Where is Barcelona?

Barcelona sits on Spain’s northeast coast. They are apart of the Catalonian Communtiy - an area with limited autonomy. Last year Catalonia declared independence because most of the population doesn’t feel like they are apart of Spain. The Spanish government denounced their move and took away their power to succeed from the nation. Most of the people speak Catalonian instead of Spanish.

The city borders on the municipalities of Santa Coloma de Gramenet and Sant Adrià de Besòs to the north; the Mediterranean Sea to the east; El Prat de Llobregat and L'Hospitalet de Llobregat to the south; and Sant Feliu de Llobregat, Sant Just Desvern, Esplugues de Llobregat, Sant Cugat del Vallès, and Montcada i Reixac to the west. Gosh it helps when you have a good map. About 1400 miles west of Istanbul and 2400 miles North of Lagos.
