Is it true that though the service itself is free, the contents of the answers are owned by the respective users – while Yahoo! maintains a non-exclusive royalty-free worldwide right to publish the information?

Again, you're posting things you already know the answer to, and seem to want respondents to verify what you already know to be true. At least someone read (or scanned) the Oath Terms (of Service). Bravo you.
