Should I brush my teeth before doing the Ancestry DNA kit? I was notified mine didn't go through. I followed directions and didnt eat 30 min?

I did my home kit at night around 10 pm. It said dont eat or drink 30 min prior to filling the tube, but I didn't read anywhere where it said brush your teeth so the last thing I was a piece of chocolate and my saliva may have been a little dark due to chocolate but other than that I can't think of why they aren't able to test my DNA and are sending me another. Is there a specific time of day I should do this, like before eating anything, should I brush my teeth 30 min before? How can I get the best results and actually get my dna tested?

NO!!! the instructions state the correct instructions. I would brush teeth and rinse mouth and wait at least 30 minutes later provide the sample.

Sending them a chocolate sauce is more than brushing your teeth. But yea, brush your teeth this time and get a clean sample. Without any toothpaste either! (You don't want them to find out you are related to a peppermint plant?)
