What do people mean by raw talent?

It means that someone has the natural ability to do something by instinct. That doesn't mean they are above needing training or experience, just they'll find it easier to grasp the skills needed or improve them.

Gifts you are born with. My husband for instance has a raw talent for drawing and doing leatherwork. He was born with the basic ability to do this, and has developed that inborn talent.

It refers to talent that's not yet cooked. Duh!

It means that something comes very natural to you. A relative has an amazing talent for singing and never took any voice lessons.
