Are people really too lazy to go inside to get their food? They'd rather sit in a long *** drive thru lineup?

It's pretty common to see long drive thru lineups but the restaurant will be empty inside. I always go inside to get my food. I'm in and out while other people are still waiting in line at the drive thru. Are people really that lazy?

you don't know peoples situations or reasonings. so stop judging. you too are getting the same food. are you too lazy to cook your own food?

One day at In-n-Out Burger, there was 4 or 5 cars in the drive-thru. I could see that nobody was in line inside the restaurant, so I parked up front and went inside to order. Every car that was in the drive-thru got their food before me, including the 2 cars that ordered after me. Most fast food restaurants give the drive-thru orders priority over the walk-in orders.

There are many reasons that someone would chose the drive thru rather than parking and going inside. Parents with children in the vehicle may not want to have to park, take the child out of a car seat, and take the child(ren) into the restaurant only to have to reverse the process when they get their food. Other people may want to stay in a comfortable vehicle (heat or A/C) rather than parking and walking inside exposed to the weather. It may be easier to not have to carry larger purchases out to the car, but rather have them handed to them through the window Depending on the area they may not feel safe getting out of their car. Some may have physical problems that make getting in and out of a vehicle, walking or standing in line more difficult

Oh the irony. Moaning about the laziness of people using the drive thru when you're buying fast food.

Some are, sure. Some people are getting food to take home to family. I don't want to have to carry 4 drinks plus a couple of bags of food out to my car. That's an accident waiting to happen.

Yes some people are. But then some people think the drive through is faster, or gives more personal service, but not always if the line up is very long. I don't go to fast food places, I don't like lining up with strange people and I have a lot of food allergies.

Avoid them altogether. Cook your meals at home.

Went inside and took an hour to get order. Drive-thru would've taken 15 mins.

I like On-the-Go Ordering. You get the app, order you're food and you make a big display walking inside to cut in front of everyone to pick your food that's already waiting. Then when you walk out, you wink at whoever is in the drivethru line that hasnt moved, and you've got a bag full of food. I even leave my car running right by the door, in and out in ten seconds why bother turning it off.

Defeats the purpose of "fast food"

Yep, lazy af. I go inside so I can ask for freshly cooked fries cos otherwise they're limp and almost cold.

Who cares, not me.

Jeffrey

Yes, I AM very lazy!

It's just more convenient to stay in your car. Obviously a lot of people don't care about the few minutes they would save. When I go to In n Out Burger though, I almost always go inside. It saves a lot of time because they're always so damn busy.

Kerry

some people just find it easier and quicker this way

Most people don't mind queueing and taking their turn. What makes you good enough to jump the queue?

I can not think of a single fast food here with drive in. People here do not eat in there vehicles. Most are inside malls. Or high business areas. For take out you order & have it delivered by motorcycle.
