Moving to dallas on a whim?

I have restaurant experience and well as some bartending experience. Want a cheap apartment not scared if the neighborhood is on the rougher side but livable. Is the restaurant and bar scene big in dallas? Or will I have a hard time getting a job?

Please do *not* move to any other location "on a whim," unless perhaps one's personal safety is at risk. (If that's the case, please notify law enforcement too.) One shall usually need money for a security deposit for an apartment, in addition to first month's rent before moving in.
