The Chinese reality is a fierce dictatorship with a capitalist varnish, in a pseudo Communist system that derives into a vertical power machine that emulates Nazi and Mafia methods of control and repression.

Let's call it a post Communist, socialist committee dictatorship. It is still run by the Communist party.

It has a communist, one party political system with a kind of sort of, almost capitalist economy,,, except that most of the profit still winds up in the hands of the party.

It's communist in ideology, and the party mandarins refuse to loosen their control. Censorship is extreme in China, as is nationalism. Communism isn't supposed to be nationalist - that's a heresy. But in practice, China is almost a free market economy.
