It is a political position not based in reality except that "ending fossil fuels" any time soon woud destroy the economy.

They are big on platitudes and short on understanding of the physics of the world. And what is possible and what is not. They want to "will" things into being. It's not like either of them took much basic science or worked in technology in their lives.

Fossil fuel consumption is contributing to some very rapid changes in ecosystems, life forms, and climate distribution. The thing is, this is not a recipe for making the US economy stronger, it is a recipe for global justice. We should do what’s right though. I have to agree with the liberals, but also agree it won’t be rewarding to the US in competing on trade. We should do it anyhow. It’s the right thing to do.
