To keep retards like you from mating with the animals.
To keep the zoo visitors from bothering the animals.

Zoo walls work. 1. Animals don't have explosives to destroy walls. 2. Animals can't overstay visas. 3. Have you ever heard of an animal trying to dig a tunnel to escape? 4. Animals can't fly planes over the wall. There isn't even a plane in the animal enclosure. 5. Using a boat to get around the wall isn't an option.
They don't cost $5 Billion Dollars.
