Is poutine similar to curry chips?

I live in New England, and when I go to Irish pubs in Boston, I sometimes order a dish of curry chips. But, when I went to Canada (Quebec) for the first time, I ordered some Poutine, their national dish. I guess curry chips is just fries with curry sauce and melted cheese, and Poutine is fries with gravy.....maybe other ingredients?

You say you have ordered both and you don't know if they are similar???? Gravy is very different from curry. But yes, poutine has cheese curds in there. But probability not similar to cheese they use is Boston Irish pubs.

You didn't notice the cheese on the poutine you had? Have you googled 'poutine'?

Sure and swimming is the same as running.

Poutine is cheese curds and gravy over fries. No, poutine is NOT similar to curry chips. Curry sauce is nothing like beef gravy and "melted cheese" could be anything. Poutine is made with cheese curds.

Poutine: Chips, cheddar cheese curds, and brown gravy. Those are the basics, although some add other things, like bacon, spaghetti sauce, or all sorts of things, but, the basic poutine has just the 3 ingredients. Curry chips has curry. A curry poutine is possible, although I have never seen it myself.

Poutine is double-fried french fries covered in brown gravy and melted cheese curds.
