I don't care about global warming, my winter heating bills are over 700 dollars monthly, I just care about my finances, anybody else agree?

My heating bill is $180 a month during peak winter months. I live in Canada I care about both

It sounds like you have a major problem. Either you keep your residence at extremely high temperature, which is bad for your health or you need to insulate properly. At that rate one season would probably pay back the investment in insulation, even if you lived near the South Pole

Some people in the small town where I live have electricity bills of over $2000/month during the summer, due to their use of air conditioning. On the other hand, we have bills of 50-100/month year round. Heating/cooling costs are a pretty poor proxy for actual temperature measurements, or even heating/cooling degree days. You don't say what the long term trend is in your energy use or where you live, so who really knows what's driving your costs? Maybe you live in Fairbanks, and those heating bills would be reasonable, or maybe you live in Key West, and they would be insane. You also don't tell us what your income is. If you're making 1000 dollars a month, you're in trouble, but if you bring in six figures every month and have a 10,000 square foot house, I don't really feel sorry for you.

No, put up a windmill or buy a sweater

I'm not sure where you live or what your heating system consists of but I live in Canada where winter temperatures (like today) are regularly in the minus 20 Celsius range and my heating bill (well, my gas bill which is for my forced air gas furnace and also for hot water) rarely goes above $140 (it was about $95 last month but it was fairly mild out for that time of year). My hydro is usually lower in the winter time compared to the summer when I am running the AC and the pool pump so it compensates a little bit. You need to check the efficiency of both your heating system and the insulation in your home.

No. I don't care about your finances.

WTH.. You need someone to evaluate your home.. That isn’t a normal bill.

I don't think our CO2 emissions are causing any difference in your heating bills. You might want to invest in better insulation. I get cranky if I pay more than a hundred dollars a month but then again I live in California.

only selfish, scientifically illiterate people would agree

No. Your bills will only get worse as climate change continues.

only anti science right wingers agree

If you live in the north east the winters are going to keep getting colder and colder because of global warming. Was just reading that. Because of how weather patterns have changed and Arctic air is going to come farther south into this country as a result. Even if you don’t live in the north east, global warming is going to have a significant impact on your finances were ever you live in the country or the world. It’s going to affect farming and the food supply, global economy, many industries, habitability of many areas in U.S., increase certain diseases, etc.... So maybe you should care about it Because your heating bill is only the beginning. You better hope a “left leaning democrat” gets elected in the next election if we have any chance of Preventing more environmental damage

I don't agree but I concur with your point. Many people will only respond when there is personal benefit. You might benefit by insulating.

Thanks.

Not really, you should care about your environment.

yes, I do,

Even if climate change is a hoax, developing alternate energy sources would create millions of jobs, end our reliance on Middle East oil, grow our economy, improve national security, and save you money on your energy bills. Wind, solar, geothermal and hydroelectric energy are the equivalent of the industrial revolution. There were a lot of folks with horses who thought automobiles were stupid.

Oh yes, the heating cost is very expensive.

Dosen't matter if you care or not. You can'T change warming or cooling in the slightest.

BS, I grow weed and pay half that

Big brother "cares". They want your bills even higher. Why do you think they pile regs onto nuclear to make it more expensive, while subsidizing sources that are unreliable to try to make them seem more affordable? Remember the ethanol subsidies? Making it seem cheaper than normal gasoline. They have now figured out a way to blame individual weather onto American made G.W. No scheme is too outrageous for globalist power mongers. .

Al Gore uses more fossil fuels in a week than most people use in a year. When Al baby gives up flying and riding around in luxury SUV's - then maybe we might believe some of the crap he spews out of his butt! Algore and fellow Lefty Michael Moore look like brothers. The hanging jowls and glazed over eyes are a dead give away. If they missed just one meal, they could feed half of Venezuela.
