Hen lays egg daily?

As what I learned, hen lays egg daily, but why does not other birds?

"Laying hens" are domestic livestock, selectively bred to produce as many eggs as possible. They are also managed and fed to encourage that level of production. Other birds are not so managed.

an egg a day is on the highest end of the egg production scale, it generally takes 26 hours for an egg to form in a chicken. basically eggs are chicken periods, so unless the egg has been fertilized it will never grow to become a chick.

That's pretty rare, with the record held by a rather unusual austrolorp. In general, leghorns are the best producers. They have been bred for high production. Some chickens are doing very well to produce an egg every 2-3 days.
