My cat keeps meowing loudly at the wall behind our office door and looking around like he sees something, but there isn't. What's going on?

Rodents, bugs, dripping water. It could be many reasons the cats hearing something coming from there. Did you open the wall and exsmsn the sells and floors for bugs, mice, rats, squirrels even birds? Cats have a great sense of hearing so they will sit and stalk whatever it is unnoticed either until the sound goes away or they catch or chase off whatever it is. My neighbor insisted her cats were chasing ghosts in the house and that it was haunted. The exterminator said they were chasing the squirrels that chewed their way into the house and were using the space beteeen the wells as a super highway. She didn't believe him until he found the nest with the babies in it. The cats were very aware of the unesntrd house guests.

Perhaps he can hear mice.

Annabel: Edit

Edit: He does it every single morning. He walks behind there knowing the door will close on him and then he stares up at the ceiling/wall and meows like he's lost. Is he insane or is something going on? He is an older cat.
