Csts can climb up however because of how their claws retract can't climb down vertical surfaces, so it depends on the tree and if it can walk along the branches and jump onto lower branches or not...if it is a long verticle trunk it will need help getting down......... animal control is who you call

Cats can run up trees but can't really climb down them. If kitty can't it's time to find someone with a ladder.

Probably not, there is a sterotypical thing fireman do when there are no fires, is use long ladders to get cats out of trees.

Probably not. It is easy to climb up in a panic. Getting down is much harder. Call your local fire department and if they are not busy they might be able to help.
